My First BOM for Quilting Board

This is my first attempt at paper piecing -- actually it's my first block period. When it was finished I really didn't like my fabric choices and the pattern wasn't right. (One window is bigger.)

This is my second attempt. Pattern tweeked and I sure like these fabric choices better. I did add window sills and a window in the steeple.  I didn't notice the roof doesn't line up right until I posted it.  Maybe  I'll try again.  Cross your fingers.

  1. I love both of those blocks!!In my opinion it doesn't matter that the windows are different sizes or the roof doesn't line up. They have more character that way.

  2. They are great! How many old country churches have you seen that are all alike? I need to try paper piecing for the McCalls BOM-America the Beautiful. This may give me the extra courage I need!!

  3. Oh, YOU are bold! I've read your 2011 goals and I see "Make a quilt" as one of your goals.....and here you are PAPER PIECING! Oh girl! If you can paper-piece, you will DEFINITELY be able to achieve the goal of making a quilt. Start one stitch at a time and you can do it :0)
