One Flower Wednesday, So Scrappy Rainbow Challenge, THON

Here are my four flowers for One FlowerWednesday and for my Soscrappy Rainbow Scrap Challenge.  I would love to have more to show, but still NO SEWING MACHINE.  I'm supposed to get it early next week and what a happy day that will be.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO READ THIS IMPORTANT MESSAGE:
Most of you know that my four-year-old grandson George has leukemia.  This weekend we are going to PENN STATE to participate in THON.  This is a weekend to raise money for the Hershey Medical Center to help the children with cancer.  The Penn State students work very hard to make this weekend a huge success.  Use a search engine to find out more about Thon -- it is the largest student-run philanthropic event in the United States.  If you live in PA -- you've probably seen the students "canning" for the kids:)

My daughter Allisa --Georgie's Mom-- recently posted this on facebook:  PLEASE CONSIDER SIGNING UP!!  We'd appreciate it and please leave a message that you've signed up as a comment here.

With THON right around the corner, I'm asking everyone to check out/sign up for the iGive program I've started.... it's completely FREE for you, but will help raise money for The Four Diamonds Fund - which is priceless! http://www.iGive.com/TheFourDiamondsFund Any questions... just ask. THANK YOU!!!

Thanks for your consideration -- Carol

When You Are Handed Lemons-- MAKE HEXIS!!

Yes, my machine is still at the shop so --  I thought I'd try my hand at English Paper Piecing.  I made a small table topper.  It still needs backing, quilting and binding, but all the hexis are joined and the paper is removed.

I decided to make flowers for a Grandma's Garden wall hanging.  Here is one flower I have together.

Here is a pile of hexis I've basted.

These are some of the red ones for the Scrappy Challenge.  I really enjoy making these -- I like hand sewing and they are portable
    .

Keep your fingers crossed for me.  Hopefully by next weekend I'll have my machine back.  I miss it:(
